Bordeaux, in south western France, is the capital of Aquitaine. Bordeaux was known as the «sleepy town» but the moon port, the name given to the port of Bordeaux due to the shape of the Garonne river as it crosses the city. It became part of UNESCO’s world heritage in 2007, recognition for the historical character of these monuments. France is considered one of the biggest wine producers in the world. The quality of the Bordeaux region’s vines is known worldwide amongst which are Margaux, Saint-Estèphe, Pauillac, Pomerol & Saint-Emilion.
