French Riviera

Synonymous with sunny beaches, holidays and luxury, the Côte d’Azur in the south-east of France, forms part of the Mediterranean coast that stretches from Cassis to Menton. The Côte d’Azur is, after all, the Mediterranean sea, with its bright blue colour where you can sunbathe in lush beaches, or discover the hill-covered countryside which makes a splendid background. Running through three departments (le Var, les Alpes-Maritimes and the Bouches-du-Rhône), the Côte d'Azur, also known as the French Riviera, has various mythical towns scattered along its length. Each one is known for its unique character: Monaco for its casinos and its Formula 1 Grand Prix; Cannes for its international film festival and its palace surrounded Croisettes; and Saint-Tropez for its port and its festivals. In Nice, The Côte d'Azur's capital, you can stroll down the "English promenade", or by the port in Old Town. And not forgetting of course the Carnival of Nice, which brings more than 1.2 million visitors to the region each year. Culture, nature and leisure, the Côte d’Azur has something for everyone.
