Frozen in time since the 19th Century, Paris Covered Passages are glass-roofed shopping arcades which are a perfect snapshot of the City of Light when it was sizzling with class and style.
You will meet your local guide and your small group at the charming Place Colette (just a short walk from Le Louvre) before making your way to your first covered passage, the Galerie Véro-Dodat. This classy walkway adorned with its original gas lamp fixtures, wood paneling and Christmas lights will set the mood right off the bat, let the festive stroll begin!
You will then explore the world of the Palais Royal, a hidden gem home to a sophisticated garden only known by locals. The rows of linden trees are surrounded by elegant archways, home to Christmas trees and twinkling lights to illuminate this historic treasure.
Your exploration continues with the Galerie Vivienne and the Passage Choiseul. You will have the chance to explore a historic candy shop with ties to Marie-Antoinette where you can admire the Christmas display of sweet delights and even purchase the Queen’s favorite chocolates if you are tempted!
The Passage des Panoramas will offer another glimpse into Paris’s past in a cozy cacophony of old stamps and postcards, bistros, local eateries and plenty of festive decorations to get you into the Christmas spirit. This will be followed by the Passage Jouffroy known for its unique window displays, its tea room, and the Hotel Chopin where the composer often spent time. The final passage will be the Passage des Princes, an elegant passage now home to toy shops and the perfect place for Christmas shopping for the little ones!
