First, you’ll meet your guide at 10:00 a.m. on the Esplanade des Invalides (Invalides, 38 rue Fabert, 75007, Paris). (S)he will take you through a 20 min. briefing about the tour and provide you with safety equipment. After that, you’re all set for a wonderful ride through Paris. Your tour starts at the Hôtel des Invalides, an important monument in France’s history. Within its walls are the Tomb of Napoleon and several museums. Along with your guide, you’ll head down the Seine River to the Orsay Museum. Take a moment to marvel at the striking architecture of this museum, a former train station. It houses the largest collection of impressionist works in the world. As you cross the Pont du Carrousel to reach the Louvre, take in the charm of Paris as you gaze down the Seine. A glass pyramid greets you at the entrance to Europe’s largest museum. The Louvre houses such works as Winged Victory at Samothrace and Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa. Next, your Parisian journey will take you to the Tuileries Garden, between the Louvre and Place de la Concorde. Place de la Concorde is one of the largest squares in Paris and witnessed many executions during the French Revolution.
Continue on your way up a part of the Champs-Élysées. You’ll pass the Grand Palais and Petit Palais, which host major national and international events. After admiring the façades of these two Palaces, you’ll cross Paris’s most beautiful bridge, the Pont Alexandre III. On the other side, you’ll return to the Esplanade des Invalides, where your journey comes to a close.
Tours on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: Eiffel Tower RouteAfter leaving from Hôtel National des Invalides, you’ll head down the Seine River. The ride down the quays is particularly charming as it really brings out the romantic side of Paris. Next, you’ll arrive at the Musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac, which features a glassed-in façade with a 2,625 sq. ft. green wall.
The intriguing architecture of this building displays within its walls the art and civilization of Africa, Asia, the Americas, and the South Pacific. Next, you’ll arrive at the vast Champ de Mars, where you can enjoy an exceptional view of the tour’s key landmark: the Eiffel Tower. Take advantage of this moment to snap a few photos of Paris’s most emblematic monument.
Then, continue to the École Militaire, a masterpiece of 18th century classical architecture. Finally, head back to the Hôtel des Invalides, where the tour will end at 11:30 a.m.
