Free time in the lovely town of Saint Rémy de Provence. On Wednesdays, enjoy its open-air market, one of the most picturesque in Provence. Photo stop at the Antiques (Roman monuments) and St Paul de Mausole (the asylum where Van Gogh was interned from 1889 to 1890).
Continuation to the exceptional village Les Baux de Provence where it's built on a rocky spur and offers all visitors a breathtaking view of the Alpilles and it's valley. From the Middle Ages,the village has kept the narrow cobble-stone streets, the imposing remains of a castle and the memory of the proud lords and troubadours. From March to December, possibility to attend the light and sound show
in Les Carrières de Lumières (entrance ticket not included), instead of visiting the village.
In Arles, discover the city by a leisure walk on the footsteps of Vincent Van Gogh to discover the places where he created his most famous paintings dated back to 1888. Arles is also worldwide famous for its architectural heritage: the Roman amphitheatre and theatre, and the magnificent Romanesque Saint Trophime Church (entrance fee not included). The weekly market in Arles takes place on Saturdays, take the opportunity to taste and buy local products (fruits, cheese, nougat, tapenade...)
