Description

Follow our host and enjoy early access to the world's largest museum: the Louvre Museum.

Before becoming a museum in 1793, the Louvre was for a long time one of the main residences of the kings of France. Located in the heart of Paris, covering an area of 73,000 m², it houses the world’s largest collection of artworks, spanning more than 9,000 years of history, from ancient civilizations to the 19th century. The collections are divided into eight departments: Egyptian Antiquities, Greek, Etruscan and Roman Antiquities, Near Eastern Antiquities, Islamic Art, Paintings, Sculptures, Decorative Arts.

Meet your host at the Louvre’s Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel.
With your reserved early access, you will enjoy the visit in the best conditions, before the large crowds. Your host will lead you directly through the museum’s masterpieces on a complete orientation route.

Your itinerary includes the major highlights: the Mona Lisa painted by Leonardo da Vinci in 1506, the medieval foundations of the palace, the antique treasures with the Venus de Milo and the Caryatids, a passage through the Etruscan collections, Pharaonic Egypt with the Seated Scribe and a mummy, the Apollo Gallery and its jewels, the great French paintings such as Liberty Leading the People, the kings’ decorative arts and the apartments of Napoleon III, as well as the Richelieu Wing and its glorious French sculptures.

We will also explore the rich history of the ancient Near East through the civilizations of Mesopotamia, Syria, Persia, and Oriental Arts, true witnesses of the origins of writing, architecture, and culture.

📍 Meeting point:
On the right side of the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, with the Louvre Pyramid behind you, at the end of the gardens.
Your host will be wearing a red jacket and holding a Paris City Vision flag.
