Become more familiar with one of the most emblematic chateaux of the Loire Valley! Raised on a tiny island, this 16th-century jewel is reflected on the calm water of the Indre River. The recent renovation work that was made gave back to this Renaissance construction its eternal beauty. Brighter than ever, Azay-le-Rideau’s chateau stands in the middle of a lush landscape garden.
Lunch at a traditional restaurant or at family estate.
Experience an authentic moment savoring local products and tasting great Bourgueil or Chinon wines!
Guided tour at the fortress of Langeais.
Walking through the well-furnished and colorful rooms of this former castle will surely help you to understand better how people lived in the Middle Ages. Throughout history, the most powerful lords of the region fought hard to run the very strategic fortress of Langeais. Nowadays, we can still appreciate the remnants of a 1000-years-old stronghold. More than anything, a major -but discreet- wedding was celebrated within the walls of the 15th-century castle: the wedding of King Charles VIII with Duchess Anne of Brittany. Thanks to this event, Brittany became part of France!
Guided tour in one of the most astonishing gardens of Touraine, Villandry.
The chateau of Villandry stands in the middle of magnificent and medieval and Renaissance gardens. Be prepared: this is a real awakening of the senses! Thousands of trees, herbs, flowers grow there all year long: there is never a bad season to enjoy the smells, the shades of this little piece of Heaven.
