Hilltop Villages In Luberon - from Aix-en-Provence

  • Description

Luberon is famous for its picturesque villages which are said to be some of the most beautiful villages in France. You will have a quick stop in Bonnieux to take pictures of the village and its medieval church dominating the village and the valley.

Explore the village of Lourmarin, the 3-tower town which captured the heart of Nobel Prize winner novelist Albert Camus with its traditionally narrow streets and its Renaissance castle.

You will then go through the ancient roman bridge Pont Julien on your way to the hilltop village of Roussillon where you will see the breathtaking display of ochre colored houses and the cliffs from the old ochre quarry.

Another hilltop village, Gordes, will provide you with a total new experience with its stone built houses and monuments and its display of narrow streets following the hill's shapes.
