First stop at Les Baux de Provence, this charming medieval hilltop village is a one of a a kind wonder. Not only it is steeped in history but the remains of the medieval castle and the atmosphere surrounding the village will take you directly back in time. You will also get an outstanding panoramic view on the Alpilles region! From March to December, possibility to attend the light and sound show in Les Carrières de Lumières (entrance ticket not included), instead of visiting the village.
The next stop will be just as amazing as you will be able to witness the great 2000 year old Roman Aqueduct with its imposing 50 meters of height and 275 meters of length. This Unesco World Heritage site was part of a 50 kilometer long aqueduct bringing water to the city of Nimes!
Avignon will be next on your itinerary, center of the Chriatian religion during the Popes stay in the city. Many heritage masterpieces are there to welcome you and take your breath away, the Pope's Palace, the famous bridge of Avignon, the numerous private mansions and the Haussmanian main street.
The day will go on with a stop in a winery of the famous Chateauneuf du Pape wine. You will experience there a wine tasting to get a real sense of the quality of this wine and learn about the wine making process which plays a big role in Provence.
